This Is The Day That The Lord Has Made!

This is the day, (echo) This is the day,
That the Lord has made, (echo) That the Lord has made.
We will rejoice (echo) We will rejoice,
And be glad in it (echo) And be glad in it!
This is the day that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice and be glad in it!
This is the day (echo) This is the day,
That the Lord has made.

This song just fills my heart when I sing it. Praising God for each new day is something that I do every day! Rain or shine. Of course sometimes it can get old if it lasts tooo long! Still I am grateful for what each day brings. Sometimes it brings a gorgeous sunrise (if I am up early enough to see it) and sometimes a beautiful sunset, (which is more likely be be seen) and sometimes just interesting clouds, but looking up into the heavens can be full of interesting things. Birds flying toward their nests at evening (going south east) and flying to their daily habitats (going north west) for the day. Sometimes it is a hot air balloon or different kinds of airplanes, or cloud formations. Whatever it is, it is always a moving show.

Then just praising God for the little things, the unexpected things
--like a letter from someone we haven't heard from for a while, or an old photo of a remembered childhood experience that we didn't know existed that is sent to us from a loved one. I am sharing one that my cousin Poppe sent me that her dad had. It was of me looking at my Gram's big pink roses next to their white garage. (They never owned a car but that didn't keep them from having a garage nonetheless.) I thought those big pink roses were as big as dinner plates and to a small child they were BIG! Big as my face anyway. Since then I have always loved pink roses. The one below is called "Our Lady Of Guadalupe". Unfortunately it didn't winter over. but it was a gorgeous rose and I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Roses became a symbol of love between my Gram and me and we always wrote little notes to each other. I still have many of those notes she wrote to me as I was growing up. She would often tuck in a (Canadian) dollar or a devotional from her devotional book or a poem. One of the poems she sent me became my own philosophy for life.

It is called:

By Love Serve (Gal. 8:13)

Just scatter seeds of kindness
As you pass along lifes way,
And the sweet flowers of grace and beauty,
Will spring up day by day.
Just give a sunny smile and
speak a cheery word
And the joy of helping others
Will bring it’s own reward.
By Fanny Hope

I hope this will encourage you to do the same and thus make this world a better place!

Have a great day!
