Ah! Summer~~ At Last!

Well Spring wasn't too bad really. It started out with lots of rain but ended up with 29 days of dry sunny weather. So now that Summer is finally here, it started out cool and rainy but starting to warm up some again. It will be interesting to see if we get our "traditional" rain on the Fourth of July this year.

For us it will be a family get together for Rebecca's 5th birthday. Even though her birthday is in the middle of the month her mother decided to do her party on the Fourth. I think she has plans for all of us to watch the fireworks near their place and it was one way to get us all there. So we shall see how that works out. It is also Lisa and Nik's anniversary that day too. More about the Fourth of July at a later date.

Today I pulled some dandelion weeds out of an area that I thought I had made weed proof! HA! So much for putting down newspapers first, then the plastic and finally the bark over that to keep the weeds at bay. At the very least it makes them easier to pull out, but this ol' lady didn't want the chore of having to bend over to pull them suckers out in the first place. Ah, the best laid plans of mice and of men go astray every time!

Just like those weeds, we have sin that keeps popping up in our lives too. Just a little one here and a little one there until we suddenly have a whole "crop" of them that we need to deal with or they will take over our lives.

Lord Jesus, forgive us for the weeds of sin that seem to take root in our lives every day. Please help us to be diligent in weeding them out as they start to take root in us and to recognize them immediately so that we can live blameless lives before you. Help us to keep our eyes on you always so that those "weed sins" don't even have a chance to put down roots in the first place. We want to glorify you with our lives and thank you for the life you have allowed us to live on this earth until the day you choose to take us home to be with you forever!
In Jesus precious name, Amen
