I saw a glimpse of God last night
Through a window He let me see—
How much He loves me with all of His might.
A glorious God is He!
He pricks my conscience with my sins
And lets me feel their pain—
Then once I’ve learned the hard felt truth
He soothes my soul again.
Oh! Why must we suffer so much woe
Before we yield to Him?
In absolute submissiveness
And other lives to win?
