Today is Father's Day and I am a bit late in putting up this greeting. We enjoyed time at church this a.m. and then Brian and Julie came over for dinner with us. We had a nice visit. Bob had calls from the other kids or at least most of them anyway.
Fatherhood is so important and I am so grateful for my own Dad. But for those who may not have been as fortunate as myself, we all have a loving Heavenly Father who loves us no matter what and He weeps with us and cares about our every concern.
One of my very favorite verses is Isaiah 40:11: (NIV)

"He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young."
What a picture of a tender loving Father! We are His lambs and that he tends to us like a Shepherd and gathers us in His arms and carries us close to HIS HEART!
This makes me feel so protected and loved. So cared for. And as a parent he gently leads those of us who have "young" or even not so young anymore or maybe even our grandchildren. To know that he guides us and is gentle is comforting as well.
I hope you all have a measure of comfort knowing Him as your Heavenly Father and find your joy in Him today.
