This rose WAS a Mr. Lincoln rose, but it seemed to die and then suddenly I found some new growth from underneath and now the bush is more prolific than it was before. The blossoms are a bit smaller than the original however maybe THIS IS the original rose that is now coming up. It is still very pretty so whatever Mr. Lincoln was it is now different than it was. Which brings me to this neat poem ...
Dare To Be Different
Dare to be different; life is so full
Of people who follow the same push – pull,
Poor plodding people who, other than name
Try to pretend they’re exactly the same,
God made man different; there never will be
A replica soul made of you or of me.
The charm, the glory of all creation
Rests on this very deviation.
Your charms-- your own glory too
Lies in being uniquely you—
Lies in being true to your best
That part of you, different from all the rest.
By Helen Lowrie Marshall
Be the best of who you are and be WHO you are! Be real and true to yourself.
As a kid I never followed the crowd. I was too cussedly independant for that. I liked being me and sometimes when I saw other kids doing stupid stuff I would look at them and think..."Why are they doing that? That's dumb. I wouldn't want to put MY life in such danger as that!" (I won't go into what they were doing but it was really DUMB. They could have lost their lives or damaged themselves forever.) I think being different probably saved my life in many ways. I am happy to be me and it has kept me from falling into many pit falls over my lifetime.
Hope you have a great life whatever you do with it. Make the Lord your focus and follow Him and you will be both blessed and a blessing to those around you.
