I had a sink full of dirty dishes to overflowing since I had Brian and Julie here for Father's Day for a late lunch...the rest were invited if they cared to come, but I wasn't being very formal about it. Cooking isn't one of my "things" to do these days. But I am grateful for that dishwasher nonetheless. After not having one for nine years it is a godsend. Before, I was the dishwasher and it was hard to keep that kitchen clean. There was virtually NO place to put one in that kitchen on 140th St. where we lived before moving here and not even a countertop one would fit on the counter (always off by a half inch or so). Not to mention how the pipe under the sink would on occasion slip down and leak water all over under the sink and onto the floor under my feet. (Not going to say what I was thinking about then!) Since I couldn't get the landlord nor my husband to fix it I had to keep pushing the pipe back up into place and it would hold for a while until the next surprise puddle around my feet.
So when we moved here, much to my delight, there was a dishwasher! I could have kissed it I was so happy to see it. So now I proudly call it my MAID! It gives me time to just load it, pull the little lever and start and then I can go sit down and relax and do other things like writing my blog or writing a letter or doing my budget or read a book or put together a notebook with photos etc. I have no end to all the projects I can be doing.
Lord Jesus, cleanse my thoughts and actions that displease you today and help me to shine, clean and bright for you! Amen
