We pray for good new next door neighbors without dogs preferrably. But I am sure God will send the person or people of His choosing and I need to be open to whomever he plants next to us. Of course we neighbors always seem to have the "ideal neighbors" already figured out as to who we would like to move in and many times it isn't anything like what we hoped for or imagined. Every potential renter is a new opportunity to meet and get to know and possibly to witness to as well. A new mission ground.
The last two renters next door really weren't compatable with the neighborhood and frankly we neighbors were happy to see them move out. But is that really the attitude we Christians should be having? Probably not! Of course some can be extreemly annoying, like parking a truck up close to the mailboxes and even knocking the mailboxes over and not bothering to fix the problem and then after our landlord gets the problem fixed this neighbor still parks his truck up close to the mailboxes as well as other things. He was making it difficult for the mailman to get in close to the mailboxes to deliver the mail. The other problem was he was parking a big giant truck out front sometimes and unloading stuff off of it which we found out later he was stealing from his company and ended up going to jail. He wouldn't socialize nor speak to any of us neighbors. But it is making me aware that I myself need to check my own attitude toward my neighbors good or bad. Everybody has baggage they carry and we don't know what that baggage is and it behooves us to pray for our neighbors. God can do with them far more than we can.
Lord Jesus,
While I pray for good new next door neighbors, you are preparing those whom you will plant next to us for your purpose. Help me to be willing to see beyond my own agenda and accept what you have planned. In your precious name...Amen
